Data Loss after reinstallation of MS Access

Error messages while accessing or mounting an MS Access database primarily occur due to corruption of database. If these error messages repair numerous times, then the most common practice is to reinstall MS Access application. While reinstallation, in most cases solves your problem, it can also result in complete corruption of MS Access database. Furthermore, you might encounter various error messages. The best way to overcome such hazards is by restoring the data from a valid and updated backup. However, in case of unavailability of a valid backup or backup falling short of restoring the required data, then you will need to use advanced access recovery software application that can comprehensively repair the database.

You might encounter below error messages when you attempt to open your database after reinstalling MS Access application:

“Couldn't find file 'G: \ACCESS\SYSTEM.MDA'”

“Microsoft Access can't start the data access object (DAO) and so it can't continue.
Solution Run Setup to reinstall Microsoft Access.”

In addition, you receive the same error message when you press OK button:

“A system error occurred, or there isn't enough free memory to start Microsoft Access. Close unneeded programs and try again.”

Data stored in the Access database becomes inaccessible after the above error message appears.

Two main reasons for the occurrence of the above error messages are discussed below:

Incorrect settings written to MSACC20.INI file.
Removal of some of the registry key settings.

To resolve the above error message and access the data, you need to follow the below measures:

In case of incorrect settings written to MSACC20.INI file, you will need to find the correct path of SYSTEM.MDA file and delete the entries that do not specify the full path in library section.
In case of removal of registry key settings, select the removal option and then run the setup from the server.

However, if both the above resolutions fail to perform, then you will need to use advanced Access Repair application to repair and restore your corrupted Access database. These Access database Repair applications employ high end scanning mechanisms to comprehensively scan and repair the corrupted Access database.
