MS Access Database corruption after migrating it to MySQL

To use the advanced and powerful features of MySQL, most of the database users are migrating their Microsoft Access database to MySQL database. While migration provides lots of benefits like multi user access, cross platform, high performance, strong security system, it can also result into complete or partial corruption of Access database. To overcome such database corruption scenarios, the best possible way is to restore the data from an updated backup. However, in case of absence of an updated backup or backup falling short of restoring the required data, you will need to opt for advanced access recovery application that can comprehensively repair the corrupted database.

Consider a practical scenario, where you have an Access database (Accounts) that you want to migrate to MySQL. To do so, you right click on the Accounts database, select export, and follow few other steps to migrate to MySQL database. However, after the migration process gets over, and you try to open the database in MySQL, it does not open. Furthermore, the Access database does not open with MS Office application as well.

Cause:

The root cause for unmountable Accounts database is the corruption of Accounts database due to migration process. The corruption of Accounts database can occur under below circumstances:

Poor schema design
Low data quality
Logic or design errors in their forms and reports

Resolution:
